Co-Co Life☆女子部 (Co-Co Life Joshibu) is a web magazine and free paper made by and for women with disabilities, run by the nonprofit NPO Semui (NPO施無畏). It covers the parts of life that disability information often skips: fashion and dressing well, dating, love and marriage, sexuality, work, and getting out into the world. The women featured live with a wide range of conditions, including cerebral palsy, spinal cord injury, visual and hearing impairment, Down syndrome, and developmental disabilities, and much of the writing comes from a first-person, peer-to-peer place rather than a clinical one.

Readers will find interviews with disabled people building careers and creative lives, reader-model features, honest roundtable talks on subjects like periods, relationships, and fandom, and practical guides to things like disability discounts and accessible places to visit. The magazine also hosts events, such as a wheelchair wedding-dress try-on and photo session and sign-language comedy shows that deaf and hearing guests enjoy together. It is a warm, community-driven space more than a service, and a good window into disability culture in Japan from women’s own voices.

For a foreign parent raising a daughter with a disability, or for disabled women themselves, it is a hopeful counterweight to the paperwork-heavy side of the system, showing full lives rather than just services. The publication is national rather than tied to one city, and reaches readers online and through its print free paper. Everything is in Japanese with no English version, though browser translation works well enough to read the articles and follow the community.
